Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations
This photo shows one of my essays in my English class that I received a 60 on. One good thing that came out of that essay was that I was able to take that paper and go over the mistakes I made. As a result, when I went back to write another essay I was able to apply my past knowledge of those mistakes I made and apply it to a new situation in this case writing an essay. I believe this is a very important Habit Of Mind especially when it comes to the realm of being a student. Because if a student is able to recognize their mistakes and learn from them then when they are faced with a similar situation such as, a test, homework assignment or essay they will be better prepared for whatever that situation may call for. Because of that fact, I believe that this one of the most important skills one can have particularly students. As the old saying goes if you don’t learn from your history you are doomed to repeat it. In short that is what this Habit Of Mind means to me.
